Beaver Valley Community Leaders -
The effort to save Beaver Valley has entered a critical, and hopefully, final phase. An agreement has been reached to purchase and keep as open space, the 240 acres along Beaver Valley Road in Concord Township. Substantial institutional funding has already been committed and The Brandywine Conservancy is currently engaged in a fundraising effort to raise the remaining $8 in needed funds from high net worth individuals and institutions.
As part of this initiative, Save the Valley, and other grass roots activist groups who raised awareness and mobilized the public in opposition to the development, are partnering with the Brandywine Conservancy to seek public support for this effort. Our goal is to generate at least 1,000 contributions by May 15 and create momentum for the Brandywine Conservancy’s wider fundraising activities.
We can do this, but we need your help! We are asking you to be part of the Beaver Valley Leadership Team. You are a leader in your community, care about open space and have a natural network of constituents to draw upon. Your commitment would be to find 20 people you know to provide contributions ($25 to $1000) to the Brandywine Conservancy, so that we can achieve our goal of at least 1,000 contributions. Your efforts, combined with a broader public awareness campaign and a few large events, should put us over the finish line!
In order to provide you with more details and answer your questions, we are convening a Beaver Valley Leadership Team event. We will provide updates from the Brandywine Conservancy, as well as informational packets and handouts for you to use in your networking and solicitation activities. If you know of other individuals who you think should be included, please let us know.
Here's how:
Write these names down and bring them with you to the meeting.
The event is Monday January 16th at 7pm
