FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2016
AT THE QUEEN IN WILMINGTON DELAWARE.
DOORS: 6:30 PM / SHOW: 7:00 PM
The event headliner is Bronze Radio Return, an American indie/roots rock sextet from Hartford, Connecticut.
Maryland based blues singer and saxophonist Vanessa Collier is bringing her full band back to perform in the wake of an extremely buzzed about main stage performance at The Ladybug Festival. Vanessa Collier is a captivating and multitalented blues vocalist, saxophonist, and songwriter, hailing from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music where she earned dual degrees in Performance and Music Production & Engineering. Prior to releasing her debut album in August 2014, Vanessa spent a year and a half touring in the U.S. and internationally with Grammy Award-winning, Blues Hall of Fame Artist Joe Louis Walker. Vanessa has also played alongside Annie Lennox, Kathy Mattea, Willie Nelson, and other notable artists.
Wilmington’s own Island/Folk/Bluesy hybrid trio The Splashing Pearls will do a rare performance as the local headliner. The Splashing Pearls are one of the most engaging bands to emerge in a long time. Original songs written by Peter Scobell that tell stories "the old-fashioned way", supported by a quirky and unique blend of instrumentation. While it was happenstance that they arrived as a trio of ukulele, steel drums and upright bass, the real "coup de grace" is the wonderful vocal by Larkin Salemi. Whether it be folk, rock, blues, reggae, swing, fun or vaudeville, The Splashing Pearls always entertain.
Alternative metal/Hard rock band from Philadelphia, PA and Glenn Mills, PA.
Rusty Blue is an alternative/hard rock band from Wilmington, DE that is made up of four high school students; Gregory Stanard fronts the band on Vocals & Rhythm Guitars, Clayton Milano on Lead Guitar, Joey Heins on Bass Guitar & Damien Pace on Drums.
When it comes to playing rock n roll from your soul, youth is no barrier. Deeply influenced by classic rock and modern bands such as Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Radiator Hospital, and Modern Baseball, this band is a dedicated group of teenagers finding ways to blend classic and new, creating a unique style of postmodern rock.
